Raised in Texas, Mason’s automotive compass swung true after he and his dad watched an episode of Chasing Classic Cars that featured McPherson College’s four-year restoration program. He won one of only 30 freshman slots, choosing the Restoration Management emphasis so he could master both wrenches and spreadsheets

At McPherson he joined the five-person Model T “pit crew,” tearing a 1926/27 car down to bare pieces and re-assembling it in a record 5 minutes 14 seconds.

The feat earned the team an invite to the Audrain Concours, where Mason served as an apprentice judge alongside his hero Wayne Carini—clinching First-in-Class by spotting mismatched wheel date codes. That one-day chemistry led to a summer internship and, after graduation, a full-time post at F40 Motorsports in Connecticut.
